Materials & Care

Materials
We work primarily with recycled metals and responsibly sourced stones. Whether it's sterling silver, 14k gold, brass, or gold vermeil, our materials are selected with care, both for their aesthetic qualities and their integrity. Some pieces carry a raw, ancient feel; others a softer polish—but all are finished by hand and made to last.
Please note that no two pieces are identical. The marks left by tools, fingers, and fire are a celebration of the making process, and we honour these details as part of the jewellery’s story.

Care Instructions
Jewellery is durable, but not indestructible. To keep your pieces looking their best, we recommend removing them before sleeping, exercising, or doing any heavy work with your hands. Avoid direct contact with perfumes, lotions, or household chemicals, as these can affect both the metal and the stones over time.
Some materials - like opals, emeralds, and turquoise - are naturally softer and more sensitive to moisture or oils. These stones should be treated with extra care.

Cleaning
For most pieces, a simple clean with warm water, mild soap, and a soft toothbrush will do. Be gentle - especially around any set stones. Avoid abrasive cloths or harsh cleaners, as these may scratch or tarnish the metal.
Silver and brass will naturally darken with age, reacting to air and the wearer’s skin. This patina gives the piece a warm, lived-in character. However, if you prefer a brighter finish it can be restored with a polishing cloth. Vermeil (a layer of gold over silver) should only be wiped with a soft, dry cloth - avoid any polishing agents, as they may strip the gold.

Storage
When not wearing your jewellery, keep it in a dry, airtight container or pouch to help prevent tarnishing - especially for silver and brass. Storing each piece separately will also help avoid scratches and tangling.
